PAINT PARAMETERS

This tool is actually two tools in one. The Color Grabber tool created by DJ Mike on top can be used to load your image and then click on the image to get the pixel location as well as the color of that specific pixel in either a decimal or a hex number. You will have to enter the URL into the Paint tool again to use that feature. They are two separate tools.

FILL COLORUse either the color name as in the list below which are specific to IM. OR use 'rgb(255,0,255)' OR use Hex as '#ff00ff'
Use the numbers just as shown with the quotes and the parenthesis and the hash symbol. Name needs no quotes.
URLRelative URL if the image is in the same directory. Full URL or relative path if in another directory.
BORDER COLORSame rules as Fill Color. This color however is the color that is already on the image, the color you want to replace. This feature may not be necessary as you can replace the entire color using replace, but it works if you need to use it.
PIXEL LOCATIONThis is the pixel on the image that you want to use as the indicator for the area to fill with color. It is as if you had clicked on the image at that point.
PATTERNThis will tile that pattern in the area you specify by the pixel. You don't need to specify any colors for this feature. Just need to click on Tile under Methods.
METHODS
COLORUse this to paint with the color specified in the Fill Color box. Use it along with Floodfill (for the section) or Replace (for that color in the entire image)
MATTEUse Matte to make the image transparent. You will need to put "none" in the Fill Color box (quotes not needed) and you will also need to output it as a gif or png. Use it with either Floodfill or Replace.
A special feature of Matte which was not covered in the tutorial is that you can use it to paint a transparent color on a transparent image. However the color you get will not really be what you specified. It will be a transparent color that changes with the page background (a kind of gray). To paint over a transparency you need to specify an alpha channel in the Fill color with either 'rgba(255,0,0,0.3)' or '#ff000030'. It does not seem to matter what color you use, it always seem to come out gray. But you can paint over that once there is an alpha channel color there. The second time you paint it use color and a regular color name or number and output as a transparency for a shade of that color you specified. You need to output the transparent color as a png only.
TILEUse this with the Pattern feature. Add the Pixel location also.
BORDERCOLORUse this with the border color specified as above, the color you want to replace it with, pixel location, floodfill or replace.
FUZZ5000 seems to work well on most images. If it is too much go less, to little, go higher. Hit the back button. You may or may not have to reload the image on the second paint.
IMAGE TYPEA completely transparent image must be a gif or a png. Transparent color is png only. Colored images can be anything.
