Materials
Small amount of Bernat Happy Holidays Silvered Red yarn, or Red Heart Baby White Pomp. Metallic yarn.
Crochet hook I (5-1/2 mm).

Tea Light Cozy

Note: This pattern is intended for use with battery operated tea lights, and not a lit candle. It was adapted from a free Water Lily granny square.

Row 1: Chain 3, 12 dc in 2nd stitch from hook (weaving in end). Join with a slst through both loops of 1st dc.
Row 2: Chain 2, dc in same stitch as chain, 2dc in each stitch around working through both loops, for 24 dc. Join to space between ch 2 and 1st dc with a slip stitch.
Row 3: *Chain 7. Slip Stitch in same space. Slip stitch across next 3 spaces.* Repeat from * to * all the way around ending with a slip stitch over the last stitches to the bottom of the first loop, (8 ch 7 loops).
Row 4: *Sc, hdc, 5 dc, trc, ch 2, trc, 5 dc, hdc, sc* around the Ch 7 loop, slip stitch in area between loops. Repeat from * to *, ending with a slip stitch in top center area between the last and the first loop. Chain 1.

Center Tea Light Section
Row 1: Insert hook between the posts of the original 24 dc just below where the slip stitch was made. Bring hook out through the other side of the post (from right to left around the back), pull loop through and sc around the post, (FPSC front-post single crochet made). FPSC around each post. Join with a slip stitch to top of first FPSC.
Row 2: Chain 3, *skip 1 stitch, dc in next stitch (working through both loops), chain 1.* Repeat from * to * around. Join to 2nd chain of chain 3.
Row 3: Sc in ch 1 space. *Chain 3, insert hook in front loop of sc just below the 1st chain, sc, sc in same ch 1 space, sc in next ch 1 space,* repeat from * to * around, ending with a slip stitch in 1st ch 1 space, cut and weave yarn end.

Shape flower and place tea light in center. For a tighter fit, use a rubber band around the center section and fold the picot edges down over the band.
